Through the use of a light Caruba wood core, the Tracer 108 can be skied with vigor, but it weighs in at a fairly low 1750 grams per ski in the 180 centimeter length. That is pretty darn light for a ski of its width. Because of this, the Tracer 108 serves as a great backcountry touring option as the skis won’t feel like cinder blocks on the way up, but they will inspire confidence for the descent. Aside from its capabilities as a touring ski, it sure is a fun option as a directional all-mountain resort ski for those softer days. Its forgiving flex and light weight profile make it very agile and playful. The early taper in the tips of the Tracer 108 allow it to really cut through deeper snow like a knife which gives it a smooth feel. The Adaptive mesh technology and metal under foot add to the ski’s smooth feel and provide stability for when you want to step on the gas pedal a bit harder.
